Hi, I’m Jake.

I am a registered music therapist and the founder of Adelaide Music Therapy.

I have been a practicing music therapist since 2020 where I draw from my academic background in both psychology and music. As a music therapist I have gathered experience within the public health system, which has seen me work in areas of; stroke rehab, physical rehab, older-persons mental health, paediatric oncology as well as the acute hospital setting.

Additionally in this time I have been practicing in the community, with a focus on supporting people with mental illness, addiction, forensic mental health, multiple sclerosis and intellectual disability.

Having grown up in a family with mental illness and witnessing first hand the journey of recovery, I feel drawn to this area. My experience has given me a perspective which helps me to relate to others and has resulted in me becoming an advocate for continuing to dismantle stigma.

Regardless of who I am supporting, my natural approach will always be to use music combined with the therapeutic relationship to celebrate a person’s individuality.
